Iker Casillas won The IFFHS for The 5 Times
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics will choose as best goalkeeper ahead Gianlugi Buffon and Petr Cech.
Iker Casillas added a new recognition of his exceptional career and opened 2013 with the same award won in the last four years. The Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has again chosen as the best goalkeeper in the world after a vote in which journalists have taken part in the five continents. Champions League and Super Cup with Real Madrid Spain and Europe with the Spanish in 2012, Casillas has been imposed in the vote to the likes of goalkeeper Buffon and Cech
The Real Madrid captain is the one most often has been imposed on this recognition, ahead of Walter Zenga (Inter Milan), which was voted best goalkeeper in the world in 1989, 1990 and 1991. In this edition, Casillas accumulated 224 points, while Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus) totaled 128. The Czech Petr Cech, Chelsea goalkeeper, was third with 92, Germany's Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich, fourth with 85, the Englishman John Hart, Manchester City, fifth with 26, and the Spanish Victor Valdes of Barcelona, sixth with 15.
